2024 Art Camp: Myself, My World (Waitlist only)
Summer 2024's theme, Myself, My World, will give young artists the opportunity to explore a wide range of media creating art of and about ourselves.
Some examples of projects include:
Self Portraits learn the proportions of a face and practice drawing your own portrait in pencil or charcoal
Try other styles of self portraits too:
Animal self portraits: what animal do you think you would be?
We’ll read Wallflowers by (very!) local children’s book author, Mackenzie Joy, and then create self-portraits depicting ourselves either standing out or blending in to a background.
Use transparency film over a photograph of yourself to trace (and then paint) a portrait
Drawings and paintings of favorite places or objects
Strike a pose! We’ll use the Cricut machine to cut a stencil of your silhouette and then use it to create gel prints and mixed media collages
We'll also end the week with an acrylic painting on canvas with a subject of the artist's choice.
Art Camp costs $540 for the week. Please pay the $250 deposit when your registration is confirmed. Balance will be due May 1st. If you are interested in registering, please fill out the registration form below (available soon!), where you can also find more information about camp.
